Originally hailing from Miami, Florida, I now call the serene and inspiring landscapes of Joshua Tree, California my home. My name is George Ascencio, and I am currently working as a System Administrator, a role I began just three months ago. Although relatively new to this specific position, my connection with the field of Information Technology spans over 12 years, encompassing various roles and responsibilities that have shaped my career and expertise.

My IT experience started as a volunteer at my family's real estate company, where I served as the on-call IT Property Support. This role involved troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining systems, and ensuring that all technological aspects of the business ran smoothly. Additionally, I took on the responsibility of consulting with investors on the best technological solutions for their office environments. This included recommending the appropriate machines and setups to enhance productivity and efficiency for all employees.

With approximately 5-6 years of professional experience in IT, I consider my knowledge to be at a "surface-level," yet it has provided me with a solid foundation and a keen understanding of the field. My passion for technology and problem-solving has continually driven me to expand my skill set and knowledge base.

Currently, I am diving into the fascinating world of Cybersecurity. This field intrigues me with its critical importance in protecting information and systems in our increasingly digital world. Through this course of study, I aim to deepen my understanding of security protocols, threat prevention, and risk management. I am eager to acquire the skills necessary to safeguard data and contribute to the safety of digital environments.

My career aspirations include becoming a proficient cybersecurity expert, capable of anticipating and mitigating security threats. I hope to leverage my background in IT to develop robust security frameworks and strategies that can withstand the evolving challenges in cyberspace.
